Anthropometric Assessment

Plicometria Dietosystem represents the most comprehensive and versatile anthropometric analysis solution for clinical practice, providing a complete evaluation of body composition and fat mass distribution.

Developed on the basis of the most validated scientific studies and using carefully selected professional instruments, Plicometria Dietosystem is a practical diagnostic tool designed for precise and streamlined operation, adaptable to a wide range of clinical contexts.

Anthropometric Instruments

Together with the Plicometria Dietosystem software, the kit includes the following professional tools:

  • Holtain skinfold caliper
  • Measuring tape for circumferences
  • Bone caliper (0–15 cm)

Dietosystem carefully selected these instruments based on international scientific validation, accuracy, precision, and documented presence in scientific literature.

Clinical Record

The software features a comprehensive clinical record that, in addition to personal and family anamnesis, allows practitioners to prescribe laboratory tests relevant to the evaluation of the patient’s nutritional status and record their results.
Out-of-range values are automatically flagged based on official reference ranges.
Users can monitor lab results over time and create customized diagnostic protocols.

Developed in collaboration with leading specialists, the software also includes screening questionnaires for gastrointestinal disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, malnutrition, and cardiovascular risk.

Anthropometric Data

Within the Plicometria Dietosystem software, users can record all circumference, skinfold, and body diameter measurements.

Through Frisancho percentiles and harmonization indices, circumference and skinfold data provide an initial qualitative evaluation of protein-energy reserves, lean mass, and body fat distribution.

The software also allows entry and tracking of handgrip strength measured with a dynamometer. Combined with validated screening questionnaires, this helps assess sarcopenia risk.

Somatotype

The somatotype function allows a complete morphological and constitutional analysis of the patient.
The dot’s position on the somatocarta provides a global anthropometric overview, highlighting the balance among endomorphism, mesomorphism, and ectomorphism.

Body Compartments

The software automatically selects the most suitable predictive equation to calculate fat mass (FAT) and fat-free mass (FFM), as well as basal metabolic rate (BMR).
The muscle mass index offers detailed insight into the patient’s nutritional and functional status.

Dedicated upper and lower artometry sections allow evaluation of muscular and adipose areas of the limbs, with the option to compare data across multiple visits.
Frisancho percentiles and color-coded indicators make interpretation clear and intuitive.

The calculation of visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue helps assess cardiovascular risk, based on reference data from scientific literature.

Report

The Plicometria Dietosystem report can be customized according to the professional’s and patient’s needs.
Reports can be printed in summary form or include detailed attachments such as:

  • Explanations of clinical parameter meanings
  • Nutritional assessment charts

A preview function is available before printing for final review.

Morfocap

This function allows importing and comparing before-and-after images of the patient throughout the follow-up process.
Images can be aligned, cropped, and superimposed with adjustable transparency to visually highlight body changes over time.

Follow-up

The Plicometria Dietosystem software enables simple and immediate patient follow-up through a detailed record of all visits.
Progress is displayed with color-coded graphs for all main parameters and body composition components.
Users can customize the history view by selecting the most relevant graphs for each case.

Integration with the Dietosystem Suite

Plicometria Dietosystem shares its database with other software in the Dietosystem Nutritional Suite, such as Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis and Dietary Therapy.
This allows real-time data synchronization and shared patient records across all software modules, ensuring an integrated diagnostic approach to diet therapy.

Connection with the Dietosystem App

The Dietosystem App allows nutritionists to connect with their patients via a personal access code.
Professionals can send reports directly through the app, which the patient receives instantly on their smartphone.
The patient can communicate with the nutritionist through a message board and chat.

Thanks to this function, nutritionists can monitor patient progress efficiently and enhance patient engagement and loyalty with a modern digital tool.

No. Depending on the subject being analyzed, the software automatically marks the mandatory values required for an accurate estimation of body composition using the selected predictive equation. All other measurements are optional.

Yes. The software includes a predictive equation for non-measurable subjects, based solely on body circumferences.

The software accepts patients aged 5 years and older. For pediatric cases, it uses WHO and Cacciari growth curves, along with population-specific predictive equations.

Yes. The software can be installed on multiple PCs, but requires the hardware license key (USB dongle).
To work simultaneously on multiple PCs, additional licenses must be purchased.

Yes. Patient data and test results can be exported to Excel.

No. Il software viene installato in locale sul pc e non necessita la connessione internet. La connessione è richiesta esclusivamente in caso di download degli aggiornamenti.

No. The software runs locally on the PC and does not require internet access, except for downloading updates.

Yes. A client-server network installation can be set up upon request by the central office.

Yes, in full compliance with GDPR standards.

Yes. Users can independently back up data. Two restore modes are available:

  • Restore (overwrites existing data)
  • Selective Restore (recovers selected data only, ideal for multi-device synchronization)

Is training and support available for the software?
Yes. Our technical support team is available during office hours, and our nutrition staff—composed of dietitians and nutritionists—provides scientific assistance and software training.
Customers with active updates also have access to detailed video tutorials, live Q&A sessions, and weekly webinars focused on patient management using the Dietosystem Nutritional Suite.

No. Minor release updates are free via the “Updates” function. Major releases may involve a fee but are not mandatory. Previous releases remain functional if system requirements are met.
