Professional Diet Therapy Software

Diet Therapy

Dietary Therapy Dietosystem is the certified professional software that enables accurate and personalized diet therapy plans for over 360 physiopathological conditions.

It is the result of 45 years of research and development in clinical nutrition, collaboration with universities and institutions across Italy, and continuous feedback from healthcare professionals who use our software every day.

Unlike a simple calculator, Dietary Therapy Dietosystem is a true processing system: it does not propose pre-set diet templates but generates fully customized diet plans based on each patient’s eating habits and nutritional needs, in full compliance with physiopathological conditions, the latest clinical guidelines, and the LARN (Recommended Dietary Allowances for the Italian population).

Databases

The comprehensive functionality of Dietary Therapy Dietosystem is built upon a solid foundation of constantly updated databases, maintained by our research and development team.

Our databases allow users to manage:

  • 370 physiological, special physiological, and pathological conditions
  • 95 bromatological parameters
  • 4,000 ingredients and 8,400 recipes
  • 2,100 traditional Italian and European recipes
  • 10 nutritional indices

The software also includes:

  • Personal Database: to enter new foods and recipes that can be used in all diet therapy plans.
  • Traditional Database: to include traditional Italian, European, and international recipes in diet plans, improving patient compliance and adherence to therapy.

Each ingredient clearly indicates the presence of allergens (according to the 14 categories identified by the Italian Ministry of Health) and FODMAPs (Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols).

Special Physiology and Pathologies

Dietary Therapy Dietosystem allows the creation of personalized dietary plans for major pathological and special physiological conditions, as well as food allergies and intolerances.
The software includes 370 specialized codes, automatically generating a diet plan that excludes all non-permitted foods and adjusts menu formats, food frequencies, and nutritional requirements according to the latest clinical guidelines.

For each condition, the software provides:

  • A synoptic sheet for the nutritionist
  • A counseling sheet for the patient, to accompany the dietary plan

Clinical Record

The software features a comprehensive medical record, which includes both personal and family anamnesis. It allows professionals to prescribe laboratory tests relevant to assessing the patient’s nutritional status and record the results.
Out-of-range values are automatically highlighted based on official reference ranges. It is also possible to monitor test values over time and create customized clinical protocols.

Within the medical record, screening questionnaires—developed in collaboration with leading specialists—are available for gastrointestinal disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, malnutrition, and cardiovascular risk.

An extensive selection of predefined dietary models for various physiopathological conditions is also available to quickly meet patients’ needs.

Dietary History

The dietary anamnesis module allows an in-depth analysis of the patient’s eating habits through both quantitative and qualitative assessments.
Several investigation methods are available, each supported by a rich image database that helps patients identify their food portions more accurately.

A proper food intake assessment enables the creation of a fully personalized diet plan, improving patient compliance and achievement of nutritional goals.

Exchange Portions

The software offers the option to assign nutritionally equivalent alternatives to each recipe in the menu.
It automatically calculates the corresponding food weight based on the selected method: isocaloric, isoglucidic, or isoproteic.
The “Exchange Portions” function is active for all physiopathological conditions.

Food Preferences and Dietary Styles

Nutritionists can personalize diet plans according to the patient’s lifestyle using specific menu formats, such as:

  • Cafeteria meal, for workers or students who must eat in canteens
  • Snack meal, for those who prefer lighter or on-the-go options

The “Disliked Foods” section allows further customization by excluding ingredients that the patient does not enjoy.
Lists of excluded foods can also be saved and easily reapplied.

Nutritional Indices

The software features several nutritional indices, graphically represented, to evaluate the qualitative characteristics of each diet plan in relation to various physiological states, including:

  • INQ – Nutritional Quality Index
  • MAI – Mediterranean Adequacy Index
  • Glycemic Index and Load
  • AI – Atherogenic Index
  • TI – Thrombogenic Index
  • CSI – Cholesterol/Saturated Fat Index
  • PRAL – Potential Renal Acid Load
  • ORAC – Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity

Additionally, the software calculates inflammatory indices and the nutraceutical score, completing the qualitative assessment of the dietary plan.

Personal Diet Model Archive

Any diet plan created can be saved as a model and reused for other patients.
This allows nutritionists to build their own archive of diet templates for different physiopathological conditions and nutritional needs, optimizing workflow.
The software automatically adapts each plan to the new patient’s goals and nutritional requirements.

Report Generation

The Dietary Therapy Dietosystem report can be customized by the nutritionist according to personal or patient needs.

Diet plans can be printed in different formats and completed with attachments such as:

  • Weekly diet schedule
  • Grocery list
  • Recipe booklet

It is also possible to print nutritional quality information and a detailed breakdown of the diet plan.
Before printing, the nutritionist can preview the report for final review.

Integration with the Dietosystem Suite

Dietary Therapy shares its database with other diagnostic software in the Dietosystem Nutritional Suite, such as Bioimpedance Analysis and Skinfold Thickness Measurement.
This allows seamless data sharing and real-time updates across all applications, ensuring a global diagnostic approach and a more effective diet therapy process.

Connection with the Dietosystem App

The Dietosystem App allows nutritionists to connect with their patients via a personal code.
Through the app, professionals can send diet plans and updates directly to the patient’s smartphone.
Patients can communicate with their nutritionist through the bulletin board or chat and send their food diary.

This powerful tool enables nutritionists to efficiently monitor therapy progress and strengthen patient engagement and loyalty.
